Today, Google plans to possibly bid at least $4.6 billion on wireless airwaves being auctioned off by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). But, unlike AT&T and Verizon Communications, Google wants the FCC to require any winners to lease some of the airwaves to other companies seeking to offer high-speed Internet, as well as other services, giving consumers a third option for high-speed Internet access service. But the FCC is apparently including only a portion of Google's requested provision in the FCC proposal.
